It's not, unless you've had a lobotomy - it's actually very connected.

Have you had a Lobotomy?

The brain is not "split" into two parts - as it develops from a single sheet of neural cells, it undergoes enfolding from front to back and left to right so as to be symmetrical. As scientists began to study the brain, they had to label it in a way that would allow readers to understand their findings and thus there is a left hemisphere and a right hemisphere; a forebrain, a mid brain and a hind brain.
As they gained greater understanding of the function, they could then say that sight originates in the optical area, that the temporal lobes house memory; that the hypothalamus is the interface between the nervous and hormonal systems; that the two hemispheres control the opposite sides of the body due to decussion and that they are joined by the corpus collosum.
Its only a road map of both the brain and human discovery.

It is not split into two parts. The major halves are joined inside.

It is a topographical result of how the entire body is formed out of cells which go through a proces of duplication under the conrol of DNA. Our body is a mirror image. That is, we have a right and left that is almost the same, but not a front and back that is the same.

The brain forms along with the rest of our body in a form that is nearly the same right and left, but not the same front to back.

;-D Your personality might be split, but that is another topic!

It is not split up into two parts but it contains two hemispheres within one brain, the right hemisphere controls the emotions, logic and creativity and the left hemisphere controls speech and other similar functions, each hemisphere controls the other side of the body.

We have very little understanding of how the brain works.
But you can be sure that the master Designer made it how it is for a reason.
There is redundancy built in - if people lose part of brain which is used for certain functions then the other half can (sometimes) take on that role

There is two hemispheres to your brain. Each controls different aspects of the body, perception and way we think.
I believe the right side controls creative and left logic. But not to sure. check the below link for further details....

Nerve fibres of the apprehensive device habit impulses as a manner of speaking training between the innovations and all factors of the physique. to boot nerve fibres additionally carry strategies from all factors of the physique to the innovations. The innovations acts very very like the CPU in a working laptop or laptop, analysing the strategies it gets and picking what training to deliver out. The apprehensive device acts to offer rapid (and in many situations) short term administration in the physique. no longer all nerve tissue is composed of nerve fibres. some cells supply metabolic help and risk-free practices, the two actual and immunological.

So as to compartmentalise tasks, like companies have different departments to specialise on separate tasks. eg. accounting and development. Your right side is geared up for qauntitive functions like math, and your right brain is used for more qualitive functions like spacial awareness and art etc.

Your left hemisphere controls your right side, and vise versa - I think this maybe a safety net if either one side was damaged.

Check out the book - Drawing on the right side of the brain

It's not just your brain; almost all your body is split to two parts: you have two lungs, two kidneys, two testicles/two ovaries.......
it has an embryonic origion; the folding of the blastula to form the gastrula.

Try to read in this topic to get clearer idea.

It is better to say human brain.
Human brain is lateralized because each part has a special function.
Left hemesphere is responsible for tool making and language while right hemesphere is responsible for other things like movement , . . .
Apes' brain which has just one part is the reason for their disability to talk.
If you want to know more you can search it in linguistics books.
