The following Players have captaied England Cricket Team since 1995.
1) Michael Atherton from 1993 to 2001 - 54 Test Matches
2) Nasser Hussain from 1999 to 2001 - 45 Test Matches
3) Mark Butcher 1999 - 1 Test Match
4) Michael Vaghan 2003 to 2005/06 - 33 Test Matches
5) Marcus Trescothic 2004 - 2005 - 2 Tests
6) Andrew Plintoff 2006 - 6 Tests
7) Andrew Strauss - 4 Tests
After 1997-98, Michael Atherton captained England Team only
in 2 Test Matches in 2001. In his absence Nasser Hussain captained England Team.
Similarly Mark Butcher and Marcos Trescothic captained the
England Team in the absence of their Captain

I note everyone so far has limited themselves to test captains - England also play One Day internationals, so you;d need to add at least one name to the list - Adam Hollioake, who captained a fair number of England ODI sides.... there may be more who have captained in the one day format only, but I don;t think so.... Abd Vakayil needs to be disqualified from the 10 points for spelling the names of 3 out of his 7 (he also ignored ODIs) incorrectly.... Plintoff?????
