life is actually an integration of parts to form a better whole. there can be no ultimate aim of life as we are bound to extinction, but there can be many intermediate goals, depending upon a persons inclinations. one practical aim could be to 'enjoy it to the fullest'. if you want to read further or on this subject i've written an article at my blog 360.yahoo.com/m_naumansadiq

We live and die. There is no "aim".
In a few thousand years at most, we will all be gone and the Earth and the rest of the universe will do just fine without us.
Our presence here signifies nothing, and never will.

Our birth and death we do not know and its not in our hands. But what we do have is the time between these two. In this time limit also the past is past, the future is not in our hands only the present is left for us to do some thing.
