rhizobium needs ample amount of N2 in air and some moisture
but the "chemical x" is lightening
yeah
this is the thing that quickens the production of nitrates in the soil by ionising the N2

the presence of a plant host is absolutely necessary for the rhizobium to fix the nitrogen...this can be done by the formation of root nodules in the leguminous plants
