As you all know, previous Mac Desktops could run applications made specifically for Mac operating systems.

Can the latest MacPro Desktop run the Windows XP, and new Windows Vista operating systems?

Also, how compatible is the computer in running windows based programs? Can it play computer games made for the windows OS?

Many Thanks

it can but currently it will ruin your mac...and there will be no undoing it...once its converted to windows it stays a windows machine no switching back and forth

if you need windows that baddly get a pc laptop and save yourself the hastle

it will run XP, don't think vista will work on it yet...
with games it will be hit or miss

If you're needing to do run Windows Applications on a new Mac, I'd recommend waiting for VMWare's new product designed for that purpose. Then you can run those OS's in a Virtual Machine on your Mac Intel Computer.

Here's a link to the press release by VMWare:

VMware Announces New Product for Apple Mac OS X Users
New Intel-based Macs will be able to Simultaneously Run Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, NetWare and Solaris

If the Mac has an Intel processor and runs OS X 10.5 or better, you need to use Boot Camp. it extremely is a ingredient of Mac OS. you will pick an entire (no longer advance) reproduction of abode abode windows to place in. bypass to applications->Utilities and you will see the Boot Camp Assistant. initiate it up. it extremely is going to stroll you for the time of the technique. certainly, you partition the stress, then insert the abode abode windows deploy disc. It reboots and starts off the deploy. at the same time because it finishes, insert your OS X disc to get the drivers.

Yes, you can install a full-on version of Windows on it (XP) and it will perform as a Windows machine.

I think, though, that the Parallels option is going to be the best way to go with that.
