Adelle Davis mentions this in her book Let's Get Well and agrees that it is a sign of too much chloesterol in the system. She also tells how she helped people lower their cholesterol and adds that the 'sacks' went away as the chloesterol was lowered.

It varies greatly for everyone depending on how smart their diet is. There's a lot of veg*n crap, and while many people lose weight, many gain weight by eating overprocessed foods like fake chicken and Boca burgers. I went vegan almost 6 months ago, and although I have my occasional indulgences like BBQ potato chips and coconut milk ice cream, most of what I eat is all-natural, deliciously healthy recipes that I make from scratch. I didn't go vegan to lose weight, although my dad's wedding was about a month after I went vegan and I was happy to drop 2 pounds so I fit into my bridesmaid's dress better. :) After that, I really wasn't trying to lose weight, but I've dropped another 3 pounds or so, bringing my grand total to 5 lost pounds in 6 months. I'm 5'5", was 130 before veganism, and am 125 now. Still happy with my body ;)
