DIF file format! Do you mean GIF file format?

DIF files are usually Excel or Quick Time files - i.e. to do with spreadhseets or videos. In respect of images they can be Raytheon Raster Bitmap files but this is uncommon.

To convert a GIF file to aBMP file and to change attributes such as width and color you'd need to use an image manipulating program such as Photoshop. If you don't have such a program then you can download IrfanView which is very popular, very good and completely free. http://www.irfanview.com
