I need to know what an APN address is so that I can set up an e-mail account on my mobile phone.

An APN is a gateway address provided by your mobile phone provider, generally it is already pre loaded on to the phone, if not, contact your provider or go on to their website where its readily available. Some providers can even push all of the settings to your device.
