After buying my phone (LG U8380) recently, I've been trying to transfer my MP3 files from my PC to my mobile, so as to be able to listen to it on the move.

I wonder why am I getting this error message every time I try to establish a connection between the mobile & PC, regarless of the fact that the USB cable is connected between my PC & the mobile.

You should close all programs on you pc except phone connection tools.
Then disconnect cable from computer side, wait a few seconds and replace cable. the phone should then be detected, and you can start to do what you need.

I had this error message at first also.
You have to have the mobile set to just the first screen showing the time and nothing else, cannot be in text or contacts, etc.
When you plug the USB in, you should hear a beep to denote that the PC has registered the LG Modem.
On the top of LG MAN, select TRNSFER/SETCOMPORT
Mine is "COM10*" - pick a port with an asterix *
Check that USB is the selected comm method.
Also:
When in EXPLORER, check under MYCOMPUTER, you should be showing a folder marked LG Phone with a mobile icon.
Also:
CONTROLPANEL/PRINTERS&HARDWARE/PHONE&MODEM, click on the MODEM tab, check that you PC has found the LG Modem and then adjust you COM port to the same as on the LG Manager.
Phew - I need to lie down now, my brains hurting !

Control Panel -> Add remove hardware and reinstall the phone. Also if your phone has bluetooth, you can use that to connect it to a computer instead of using CC (cable connection)

Usually, there's a CD Installer with the cellphone that you bought. You probably need to to install it first before you can download files to your cellphone from the computer.

remove/re-install the phone drivers.....restart pc... have you tried bluetoothing them to the phone...if all else fails... does the phone have a memory card you can take out... if so.. it's easier that way........
