prob depends on the kit and how big a shot ur giving it, if ur getting a progressive nitrous kit installed thn ur not goin to suddenly whack ur engine with a jolt of power and thus it would prob hold up. if ur gettin a purge kit where its jst a case if whacking the nitrous in thn id strengthen the engine as its gna take a beating. either way if ur gna be safe id strengthen it thn itd be reliable n could allow for bigger nos jets later on or more mods. try contactin the likes of dastek or summat, ive bn to thm b4 bout stuff and ur not pressured into buyin n u get the right advice from ppl who know btr, also make sure u upgrade ur brakes n suspension...no point goin fast if the car cant handle it

If your engine is in good condition then, no work required, If more likely your engine is a bit worn, a full or partial rebuild IS needed, if you don't you WILL destroy your engine sooner rather than later,
Don't forget about uprating the suspension and brakes either, or you may be going too fast with cr@p brakes, not good!
