Hello!! :o) In my opinion - a teacher has no right to ask students to assume the role of 'rat'. And when it comes to a student reporting a fellow student - I think it's important to acknowledge that we are NOT responsible for some other person's integrity. [Only are own] Craig!! :o)

Your teachers a jerk for putting that kind of pressure on you and your classmates.
Your teacher is instigating hatred among your peers and is trying to separate the students into becoming loners in that class by pitting one against the other. Hatred will stem from you telling on others and not only the guilty will despise you but many others in the class will no longer trust being around you.
Think it over very carefully before you act. Remember Judas got rewarded for telling where Jesus was on that fateful night.
I don't think you would feel good about yourself if you did tell.
Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.... once you find it, don't ever lose it. Peace.

My daughter was in the same kind of situation many moons ago (She's 31 now). She got so fed up she refused to revise for her exams, wouldn't tell me what was wrong. Until she burst into tears and explained what was happening. I asked her to call her friends (Same situation as herself), got on to their parents and we demanded (No requested) a meeting with the headmaster. We told him what was happening, how we felt about it and as at first he didn't seem too interested, we offered to make things change by picketting outside the school and calling our local radion to let them know what was happening in his school. We had already contacted the Education department and let him know our girls had already been interveiewd by them ...
The teacher involved went on sick leave and a new teacher took over. The girls did very well in their exams if they were not most popular with the shools' bullies but we put a stop to that as well and this time ... The headmaster did something about it. 5 girls were expelled and would you know ... They were those who cheated with their teacher's approval!
So do something about it! Don't let them put you off your studies!

Have your parents complain to the school board or authority... in most areas, rewards and extra points are only given for academic accomplishments... not pimping... It's up to your teacher to catch the cheaters... This is bad practice by an inept individual...

write an anynomous note and leave it on her desk toward the end of the day or give it to someone in the office and tell them it's anynomous. Or tell your parents. I called my son's teacher once after he came home with a same situation. I explained to the teacher that he was afraid of the bullies finding out he told. They ended up punished and no one found out who told.
But do not keep silent. teachers and staff need to know. Bullies are always afraid of authority.

Send your teacher an anonymous note. Skip the reward to avoid confrontation with the cheaters.

you should give your teacher a note in someone else,s handwriting or using alphabets by tearing from news paper .you just keep the note on the teacher,s desk .the teacher will get to know the matter and u will also not get involved in front of the class.this is the way i would have done.

I would let it be obvious to the teacher in a subtle way, that I do not respect her. And I would ignore it if I see someone cheating, being very painstaking about keeping my eyes very heavily on my own test

I would rat out those cheating fuuckers. I have no remorse for cheaters. Hell, I've done it when I was in high school and elementary school.
