Same reason women do, to "pretty" themselves up.

I think it's a social construct - and a pretty recent one - makeup for men fell out of favor about the time of the American and French revolutions - when the sack suit and "liberte, egalite and fraternite" came in - the original distinction of the classes by their dress and deportment started to die out then. It was made "unfashionable" because those males who wore it were generallly aristocrats (and could afford it). And if the aristocrats were out, (as in headed for the guillotine) then their fashions were too. If you dressed too much like a "dandy" you were suspect of being anti-democratic (kind of like today's political correctness but with far worse consequences).
Over the next two generations, the aristocracy fared badly but the prohibition on male display stayed, partly because of the uniformity of males made possible by the raising of mass armies, and partly because the high fashion of the late 18th century became the victim of an whispering campaign - transvestism and the ornate male were socially linked in order to create the mechanised man perfect for factory or war machine of the day. If all men were essentially equal, the logic seems to have gone, they were interchangable, and that interchangability of people in the lower classes bred the age of soldiery and factory slaves that followed.

(Don't ask me- I am a makeup artist - and I wear some of my own products - my partner [very female, and a makeup artist too] and I have lots of fun with mutual decoration - but that's us - it's not right for everybody - but I think everybody should be free to choose a look that's right for them - from the butchest bodybuilder to the Jay Davidson types - the world should be capable of that much basic freedom. Alas, it seems there will be people who are scared by it all - and those who don't know the limits of a thing called "good taste")

I guess they're being metrosexual or something... But I think make- up looks good on some other guys. Just like the Korean actor Lee Jung Ki. Asian guys have some feminine features and I think putting make-up is done to accentuate their looks. :)

To accent their features I guess. Just like a girl. I only know a few straight guys that have enough guts to wear make-up.

haha I know! Makeup on guys is cool sometimes. It is not always gay... men where makeup for the same reason women do: it emphasizes and highlights their features. I like Mr Jay from 'America's Next Top Model'. He looks like a ken doll. But its cute and the boy is hot!

They do it because they want to. For the same reasons that women wear makeup.

It has nothing to do with sexuality preference.

And I agree guys look hot in makeup.

eye makeup really emphasises your eye colour, and the guys probably realised just how much girls are suckers when it comes to eyes. i mean, drool. and the lipstick, if it's not too much, they're trying to look hot [as women do].
