I am relatively new to sewing (made a few skirts, and dresses with and without patterns), but would like to know how to add an accordion pleat to a slit in a skirt. I've tried sewing it in, but it always sticks out at a weird angle, and does not lay right, and I am very tired of ripping the seams out after another unsuccessfull attempt....can you help?

Pictures would be nice if you have any of what the inside/outside would look like. Thanks soooo much!!!!

The pleats are already ironed in the material, just need to know how to sew them into the slit correctly.

I think you have to put / use a dart at the waist.

My mom was a seamstress.

my mum is a dressmaker but she is on holiday right now so i'll ask her as soon as she gets back on wednesday. sounds like you might need to iron in the pleat before sewing it in to ensure it stays flat though

if you want to put pattern with a tiny hole in the middle you could sew it to the skirt
