well it must come from the old days when families didnt have the money for new boots and you had to fill your fathers boots, or something like that. But the saying actually means can you be as good a person as the person you are filling in for, like i.e when you get a new job, you have to fill the boots of the person that was there before, and maybe do better...

This one has two meanings 1) If the person who said it is from Newfoundland, Canada, then it means to take your fill of something, like "help yourself to as much as you want". 2) If you are making refernce to someone filling their boots, it refers to what would happen if you pooped your pants severely (from a fright), it would flow down and fill your boots.

Jesus was sent to earth to lead the people back to the Father, who first gave the job to the Israelites - but they failed miserably. In order for the people to be forgiven for their many sins in the sight of God they were required to bring a sin offering to the alter of the Lord . . . Jesus is that offering! That is the reason at the moment of Christ's death the curtain where the alter of God is in His Temple tore in half signifying no more animal sacrifices were necessary to be forgiven by the Father. (Matthew 27:51) Heb 10:20 - This is the new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us through the sacred curtain, by means of his death for us. When all the prophecies of the scriptures, and Jesus' work was completed and the mighty will of the Father were finished, then Jesus said; "It is done." God Bless You!
