Most blog sites that I've seen group blogs by the writers interests. So if you're into heavy metal, and someone else who is into heavy metal is browsing the site, they might see your blog and want to read it. Also they often have 'featured blogs' or stuff like that, where some random blog is linked from the front page. Other than that, yeah, you need to tell people about your blog and then they'll read it. Often though, you won't want to tell people you know about your blog because of all the nasty stuff you write about them.

People will surf over to your url . You can list your blog on other blog pages to get higher ranked. People can search for your url in google.

yes..you need to send your blog URL to your friends in order for them to see and visit the page..or you can have it publish to search engines so other people can have an opportunity of accessing and viewing it as well...

to see other people's blogs, simply search for the topic u want,
example:
blogs: Pluto
will give u all the blogs about Pluto

yes i can see your on your 360 page, and no it is not a waste of space because people always go on 360 and you can invite people to be your friend.
