As a soldier who went to at least 4 Muslim countries,, my impression was "WOW". And I would want to see "Muslim leaders" to be true leaders to their people and NOT these who keeps them in power. Muslims were friendly, passionate and always greets you. Even strangers. I think Muslims should over throw their current leaders and BE TRUE AND REAL to each other and not to others.

No respect for women or non " believers", most of the men I've met are lazy. In Iraq the women work the fields while the men stand around like little roosters trying to look important. By far the
majority of the men I've met would lie to your face and scam or steal your last dime if they thought they could get away with it.
For all that you hear about how America is the great satan because of our sinful ways, it has nothing on Dubai. We saved the people of Kuwait from Saddam yet they look down their noses
at us. The people of these countries are fed constant negative news about the western world. The leaders of the middle east
countries stuff their pockets and the pockets of their supporters
while the poor people live like rats and are taught to hate Jews,
Christians, Hindus, and anyone or thing that the " religious teachers" tell them is the cause of all their misery. I tend to think
that most people are basically good but have been failed completely by their political and religious leaders. Because of that,I believe that we are in the early stages of WW 111. I hope that I'm wrong, but once you've been in this part of the world for any amount of time I think you can almost feel it happening.

You know really it's the same the world over. The actual people of countries are decent, caring, helpful & friendly. When a few extremists or a controlling, dictating government get involved is when there is trouble. Don't judge what you see on the news as being true for all.

I have been in Kuwait now for six months, after you get over the culture shock you realize that it isn't much different from the US, the people are very friendly and poorly portrayed in the media. The only exception is the lack of alcohol, could really use an ice cold Beer!!!!!!!

Well... In my experiences, I have nothing but nice things to say. The people are very nice and not RUDE like one may expect. I visit Dubai often and have even met Afghanis and Iraqis. All are very nice.

i visited turkey...it didn't seem much different than America...except everyone calls themselves Muslims instead of Christians...i don't think i would visit certain Islamic countries...because of the blind hatred some have for the west or America...

When I was in Zanzibar, Tanzania, I found it very interesting that EVERYTHING shut down @ prayer time(s).. they'd even put their prayer mats down in the streets, and 'business' was put off 'till prayer time was over..
Other than that difference (to America), everyone has always been very courteous, helpful, hospitable and friendly!
