Contact internal internal affairs but i am telling you you must be persistent. They tried to blow me off regarding a comment made by a sheriff, he threatened me but you must report as to where he obtained the information he retrieved on you.Check to see if someone is using your identity or was he slandering you assuming your character?

I used to handle visitors at a facility in a small county. We ran the visitors through the local law enforcement database system to see if they had warrants, etc.. So your problem is that there is some incorrect info in the local sheriff's database. You need to get that cleared up. If you have a common name it can happen. The important thing is that there is information in that database that is incorrect which could come into play in another way, for example if you are ever stopped. Ask to speak to the Sgt on duty and get it cleared up ASAP.
The deputy and the Sgt are just going on information in the database, there was probably no malice involved. It is probably an innocent data entry error, and I doubt you would win in court.
The person that said "remember your wife is still inside" is correct. It isn't worth it to get people riled up at the facility. Just make friendly inquiries with the Sgt. to clear up the incorrect information. Don't be confrontational. It' is to your advantage, and your wife's too.

Not sure I would do you any good to sue him. Sounds more like identification to me, not slander. I would ask for proof of his accusations. Call the lic. department and make sure you are valid. People sue way too easy nowadays. Be the bigger man and do it the right way. Plus you would get any money from the County, it's not their fault. And deputy's don't make much money. Unless you live in a rich neighborhood.

Be careful what you do,your wife is still inside.
If you decide to you can bring a letter from a judge that says
your license is current and a copy of your criminal record.
When you show up with paperwork from a judge, sherrifs
back way off, they know they may not have the upper hand.
I hope your wife is ok,maybe they would not let you see her because she has a big black eye or something.

You can't fight City Hall. Too much good old boy stuff. You'll have to got to the State level. Contact the Department of Justice, through your Congressmen. And don't give up with the first
automatic computer response.

That isn't slander, by definition. Slander is publicly giving false, demeaning statements of another's character for no other reason that to belittle them.
I would attempt to go again, if you are again turned away, speak to the sheriff. If that fails, go higher. Be firmly resolute, but not beligerent.

Talk to the sherriff first..if that does not help its time to get a lawyer. Sounds like you could be compensated greatly. Although I understand its not about the money. Peaceout to my People !!!
