I'm a bit doubtful - my PERSONAL VIEW.

They were trying to genuinely do it but realized that the Russians were going to get there first, so they decided to fake it.

I think that EVERYONE (from those in the control room to the tea lady) thought that they were working on the real project & it was happening – but really the ‘landings’ took place in a studio nearby.

The famous three were launched into space, but orbited the earth out of range so their return would look authentic.

As for the fact that Neil, Buzz & Michael (Buzz I believed tried to punch out a conspiracy theorist a while ago for suggesting it was all made up) swear blind it happened - it is amazing what people can be suggested to believe under deep hypnosis.

I do believe that they did go up there on a later mission, but this was to ensure that the first landing looked genuine eg putting up a flag, dump a moon buggy etc.

I did hear somewhere that a Japanese probe was going over the landing site in 2007 and would take pictures as it flew over – I’m not sure how true this is though.

The thing is, like all good conspiracies theories (JFK, Princess Di, Alien abductions etc etc) we will never know the truth. After all, can you see G W Bush stand up and say “Yeah (cackle cackle) we did fake the landings, we had no choice, here’s how it was done……..”

this question would have been impossible when the moon landings took place because the general public were into certainty nothing was questioned as a result. This question is a 'post modern' one that is typical of the modern mindset. Can anything be certain anymore? when you are from a broken home, this is the type of question would be normal. Back in the 1960's the parents and families stayed together and there was a lot of trust and good will about.

I would guess your parents are either divorsed or going through a divorse, if wrong your peers are experiencing this.

more notes:

In many developed countries, divorce rates have increased markedly during the twentieth century. Among the states in which divorce has become commonplace are the United States, South Korea, and members of the European Union, with the exception of Malta (where all civil marriages are for life, because civil divorce is banned, which is also the case in the Philippines). In the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom and some other developed Commonwealth countries, this boom in divorce developed in the last half of the twentieth century. Japan retains a markedly lower divorce rate, though it has increased in recent years. In addition, acceptance of the single-parent family has resulted in many women deciding to have children outside marriage as there is little remaining social stigma attached to unwed mothers in some societies. The subject of divorce as a social phenomenon is an important research topic in sociology.

Nope - they don't even have the technology to get there now!

Heat is the main problem and I'm not talking about the atmosphere.

Anyway, is it believable that NASA (as it has claimed) misplaced the most important piece of original film in the history of man's exploration - I think not. Any sane organisation would have had the film stored in a vault for safe keeping, not left amongst piles of other reels of useless film.

Yes I think they took place. Think of all the thousands of people involved in the moon landing. Theres no way all of them could be in on this private joke. Anyway, how do you explain samples of moon rock having come back to earth and be tested on?!?!

Ta!

remember that there were thousands of media people from all over the world present for the liftoff and landing and constantly monitoring whatever was available in between. how would they fake the landing? pay off all the camera men-aaah, look, you just couldn't get enough humans who were smart enough together long enough to pull something like that off.

Yes, they did take place. World War Two also took place. Also, the moon is really spherical, even though it looks "round". (Or maybe there's a Sphere Conspiracy!!!?)

What make you think they didn't? Why would it be importaint for us to lie about it? Even if we just wanted to "beat russia to it" what would be the point. I'm pretty sure they did land on the moon and I'm pretty sure you are CRAZY!!

No way will I ever believe this happened!
There is no atmosphere on the moon, yet the American flag was waving in the wind!! And if we've been there before why haven't we gone back now that we have better equipment?

100% yes

so many conspiracies, but the ones who lost the most from it (Russians) would have screamed blue murder if it had been faked just to embarrass the US. and a program was made disproving all the so called problems, i.e shadows etc, was great.

think we should go back soon, but i think Starbucks may be there already .lol

No i don't think it happened for a few points

1. the wind was blowing the flag, there is no wind in space
2. if the first person on the moon was neil armstrong, who filmed it?

I can't think of any more

the person who said the they would not get to the moon because of the distance, if you get half way to the moon the gravity would pull you the rest of the way.
