He never took steroids or performance-enhancing drugs. And he failed the drug test in 1994, not in 1986. I feel sorry for him that he allowed his life to get out of control like that and he turned to drugs, but we're all human, and we all make mistakes. Maradona was a great player, and he's quite an intelligent person too, he shouldn't have become an addict, but sometimes people lose control over their lives, and he shouldn't be judged because of it.

Yes, take the drug factpr OUT, Maradona is the best player the
world has ever known. Put the drug factor IN, most of us has doubt whether he is the world best player. So drug is the question, not Maradona himself. Does the drug affect his ability to
the extent that he is not good enough to be the best player in the
world. My answer is NO. Maradona is the greatest soccer player in this world. Pele, you are good too!

some of the best sports moments happened with players high as hell. so he did coke. so what? it's not like he was an airline pilot or a school bus driver. he was one of the best players on the field. what he does off is his buisness. rooney will still be a football immortal but he still was and is a prick.

Everybody makes mistakes in life. I dont think it takes away from the fact that he was a brilliant footballer. People get so fixated over the mistakes that people make, forgeting that they themselves have made mistakes.
