Guess they don't really think about it and they think they are better than restaurant workers. I'm always nice because I know the nasty stuff that happens in the back of the house.
I work with a center that focuses on the restaurant industry, so I know the workers already have to deal with a bunch of crap.. and nasty customers just add on to it.

Serving in a cafe is like all different job. If there are not sufficient servers, issues would be sluggish, inspite of the undeniable fact that it is not the servers fault. If the kitchen, tousled your order, it is the kitchen's fault. If the server introduced you the incorrect order, it is the servers fault. positioned the blame the place the blame is due. confer with the administrative till now you depart. make certain administration knows the region. I waited tables for 2 an prolonged time and interior the U. S., a server gets minimum salary, after tips tax, it truly is a few million/2 of the minimum salary, so a 40 hour a week paycheck lands up being approximately $a hundred and twenty - $one hundred fifty. A servers substantial source of earnings comes from their tips, no longer from their paychecks. Please think of of that till now you tip. A tip is for solid provider, no longer the meals. A chef makes solid funds even if if the meals is powerful or no longer. the easy tip for solid provider is 15%. super provider may well be 20%. ok provider may well be 10%. In my section it truly is uncomplicated to choose. Tax is 6.5%, so in case you double the tax you have 13% of the bill.

because some people have the misconception that waiter/waitress jobs are demeaning. They don't seem to realize that there are many different reasons why someone is a server. Many are students looking for extra income while pusuing a college degree. My girlfriend is in college during the day and working as a server in the evenings and raising a family and studying in the time in between. Try and remember this next time your server seems distracted, they are probably juggling more in one day than you will all week.

People act rude towards their waiters because they think since they are paying money for eating, they tend to boss over the waiters which makes them act rude. They want to establish their superiority over him. This results in rude act. Also may be these people are taking out their frustration on the helpless waiters as they dont shout back and merely take all the abuse thrown at them.If these people think the waiters are also men and into this job to feed their families like you do then such rude acts wont take place.

Because some people feel bigger when they make others feel smaller.
I'm a waiter...I feel your pain.
And, no, waiters are not stupid...about 90% of my coworkers (including me) are either in college or have their degrees. I would probably say that about 20% of our clientele can boast the same thing. And just FYI for everyone out there, a 10% tip hasn't been acceptable since the 70's...get with the times you cheap bastards!

Because they don't understand how hard it really can be. It takes a superb memory, great people skills, ability to stay calm under pressure, speed, the ability to stand for long hours, team work, organization, common sense, and having a strong head on your shoulders when someone's rude.

unfortunately, some people are bullies n are looking for a person who is in a position where they can't fight back. in any job that involves customer service, employees must abide by the customary store policy of: the customer is always right. contrary behavior can ofttimes result in ending up on the unemployment line. a jerk with attitude takes advantage of this.

Some people are just rude. Sometimes it makes them feel powerful and they want to act superior. Some of them are just jerks to begin with. You have to walk to the table with a smile on and be nice anyway.
