Honestly, I'd have to say I'm the HAPPIEST married guy here. I have a wonderful wife who I wouldn't trade for the world. Like Dr. Phil says: when I take my wife someplace and there's lots of couples there, I know that nobody there treats their wives' better than I treat mine.
What is marriage to you? I believe that marriage "is the unselfish act, between two people, who put the needs/wants/desires of their spouse ahead of their own and expect NOTHING in return". If you both believe this, and practice it, then you'll have a long and happy marriage.
Another observation: if he treats his own mother with love and respect, he'll treat you the same. Love his mother and he'll love you even more!

I am glad that you are thinking that you are not sure your the right one for him. This shows your thinking of him and you want him to be happy.
I really didn't proposed marriage to my wife, we sort of just knew it would happen. I still feel lucking that I got someone so great. I to felt that I might not be the best for such a wonderful person. Turned out she thought the same thing.
Over 20 years later and we love each other more everyday. My wife brings up that I didn't really propose to her like in the movies, she always says it with a smile Every time she brings it up I knell down and ask her if she will marry me again. She always smiles and says she will have to think about it for awhile. I feel our love keeps growing because we both want to be the best we can be because we never thought we were good enough for each other.

I knew her and her mom for 3-4 years before we married. We just grew closer together that lead into a friendship. She had been tring to hook me up to other women, of which I had no knowledge of. Because of this kind of friendship and knowing each of family that I knew she was the one. Why did I propose to her, it was obvious, we loved each other. I 25, she 22

ahhhh, cold feet, everyone goes through that before they get married. As far as my wife and I, we clicked the first time we met and, like your boyfriend, I never proposed to her either, we just picked a date and went on from there. FYI - we have been married for 25 years now. ta-da

If you feel that way then why are you getting married. That will only lead to further strain in your relationship. Everyone gets married for different reasons, but it takes a special relationship to last.
How do you know if your partner is the one, feelings. How do you know when you are thirsty, hungry, tired, or fulfilled.
