Well take a look at it this way. After 9/11 the security has been reasonably good. I don't believe there has been a hijacked plane since. The British terror plot was another example of what great security the Governments have and that they have been diligent in doing their jobs of protecting air travelers.
Today in with thousands of planes in the air at once and people still traveling, it seems to be the safest way to go. Maybe not the fastest but still is the safest as far as I am concerned.
Would you feel safer if they didn't search everyone and have certain carry on restrictions? Just be sure you are at the airports at least 2.5 hours before your flight leaves. Happy Traveling.

Safest?? Never was the safest... , but it goes across the oceans... It all depens how you look at it....
Everyone thinks of 9/11 as the very first plain crash...?!
Ever since I was young I heard of crashes everywhere..., but they are still flying..., as humans cannot live without the planes anymore...
The very first I heard of was the crash of Buddy Holly,etc... I was very young...
Then all the ones in England, the crash on October 31st Holloween full moon after 10 minutes departure from New-York,the one in Newfoundland, the one in Dominican Republic just after departure..., The one in France just after departure, all the ones in Nigeria where laws are totally different, all the ones deviated in the 70's and 80's for all different reasons, the 9/11, and many single flyers..., and if I may say, many many more in the future... Planes are mechanical objects... and if taken the prorata of cars and planes, I would take the car... If it catches fire, I can stop it and step out..., not a plane... the step is high... But I guess it is faster than by boat... although I have never hear of any terrorists sinking a boat yet... Take the boat...

Yes, it's safe. It's safer to fly than drive. People get killed every single day on the roads. A death involving a plane is actually very rare.

Yes it is... And why? because it is just as dangerous as driving a crazy, going on a train cycling a bike or walking. Anything cound happen to you in these methods of transports.... But do we stop using them because of these dangers? No.. Flying is no more dangerous than driving a car or going on a train.

No. Snakes will kill you up there. I'd stick to cars.
