Depends on the well being of the child .. is the child mentally or physically being abused? Is the child in a loving and stable environment? Does the father have other family members helping and giving support? Does the child receive food, love, clothing, a roof over their head, and everything else in between.

Only if it's an issue of safety, but even with that he should be involved in the daily life of the child. The foster system doesn't leave room for that- it's all or nothing. It would be great if there were a group home for families such as these.

no its not correct even if the father is retarded at least your child isnt. you should at least leave the father with the child until the child is 11 or 12 you can do it but right now its too early.

Only if the child is unsafe in the father's care. Otherwise, it's wrong and it's exploiting the mentally challenged.

Only if the father can no longer provide for the child and is not abused in any way.
