Not as many as are being born, we really need to lose a couple of billion people with no gain. Modern medicine and the eradication of diseases like small pox for example have eliminated some of natures population control methods.

Depends on whether people are warring or not, doesn't it? It should increase if USA is bombing the hell out of Iraq or Israel is bombing the hell out of Lebanon.

The number also increases each time the cycle of BUD/S Phase 1 comes around.
