I'm divorced, own my own house and have three kids. I work 40 hours a week. I could really use some cash, but second jobs don't pay very well. I have a boyfriend, and don't know if I want to give up any of my time with him, my private time or time I need to spend with housework. Is it worth it to have a few extra hundred dollars a month?

My ex is already paying me more than he legally needed too. Housing is very expensive where I live, and because I have joint custody I had to stay in the area. I hate it, but I did what I had to.

Are there any jobs in your field that pay more? It might be worth looking into.

You would also have to weigh the costs involved, child care, car, new tax bracket, sometimes a second job ends up costing more than it makes. You might try and do some work you can do at home, typing reports, or proof reading, boring but it can be good work for someone to do in their spare time, if you have any spare time.

You have 3 kids. Don't get a second job.

Solution: Marry a rich man.

What you should really be more concerned about is losing more valuable time with your children, not your boyfriend. Boyfriends come and go, you're children will grow very fast and be gone before you know it. They are only on loan to you. No amount of money in the world is worth giving up your sanity. Make the money you have coming in stretch out. Cut back here and there. There's always somewhere you can cut back.

It takes away to much time for your children .. so I would say if you can avoid it do so. There are other ways to come up with cash .. especially with having a garage sale. Ways to save money by pinching pennies as simple as using coupons .. turn lights off and not leaving them on all day .. fun activities with the kids that don't cost a lot of money, not eating out having dinner @ home.. What if you only do it for say.... a month or two?

I work 40 a week at a job I hate...started my own business, and its getting me somewhere. I may get to leave my job within a year...probably LESS!! But you know, Ive worked hard.

You should get a second as soonas possible. If the guy really loves you, he will understand your situation and support your action. Talk to your boyfriend about your situation. Communication is needed to make a good relationship works! I think your man will support you decision if he is the "ONE" you are looking for as a partner in the rest of your life. Good luck!

If you can balance your time, try going for a job with a research call center (social research,) it's evening hours and flexible usual.
