My daughter had border line smear result about a year ago and I was terrified. She had it repeated and was still the same. In the end she had the cells lazered off and the next smear she was fine. Remember those cells will take about 20 years before they could definitely be identified as cancer. Also remember that sometimes borderline cells often revert back to normal production on their own. I worry too so I understand but just do exactly as the docs say, keep your appointments and you will be fine. She was 22 at the time.

according to my better half, a smear test is basically the doctor scrapping a section off the inner surface of the cervix to look for any abnormal cell structure,, the fact that your smear showed border line abnormalities does not in any way meen you have cancer, the bodies cells can change and it is the changing cell patterns that can lead to cancer if they are not treated, the smear test is the medics way of keeping an eye on any potential problems and it gives them any early warning of a potential problem.
here in the uk it is standard practice after a irregular smear to re-call you initially every 3 months just to make sure everything is well, after a couple of these checks your gp will make the visits every 6 months and eventually every couple of years providing the results are what he expects.
it sounds as if you have a good medical team and they are doing what is best for you to ensure you dont get any cancerous cells..
relax my friend and if you dont believe what i am saying is true, sit down and ask your doctor to explain in laymans terms just to get more reassurance,
good health and good luck
relax okay

i had an abnormal smear test a year ago and Ive been for 2 more since then and am due for another one. The nurse said there are no cancerous cells but they do a smear test more frequently just to keep an eye on you.

Quite often a pap smear will find abnormal cells which are not cancer but just need to be watched. Relax, enjoy your baby and do go back for that 3-month check, or earlier if you are worried.

i'm in Scotland too and have had 2 smear assessments the two got here decrease back ok - I continually keep as much as date with them, whether you do depart your dignity on the door yet they are so nicely worth it interior the long-term. I do think of the age could desire to be diminished in England to the comparable as Scotland, Jade Goody has introduced cervical maximum cancers into the frequently used public eye and made females greater responsive to what can take place in case you do no longer choose for cervical smears. that's totally unhappy that Jade died so youthful and left 2 alluring boys at the back of without their mom yet she has achieved plenty for women regarding this particularly circumstances taboo concern, because of the fact as you pronounced all and sundry thinks "it won't in any respect take place to me". xxx

smear test should be done every 1 year for every female who is over 17 years old or have started sex life,
if you have this kind of fears you should talk to your GP or other doctor, he/she will help you the best.
