It might be "ANGEL BABY" John Lennon did a remake of it in the 70's but it was originally sang by Rosie and the Originals in the 60's. Roseanne and Dan were supposedly HIPPIES in the day so it must be a hippy song. Back in the 60's and the 70's artist weren't around for long. Some had a single hit song and then they were never heard from again. I know the song your talking about but I just can't remember it well enough to know the name. This is probably one of those songs that made it to the radio a few weeks then the band disappeared. I would tried to research the old hippy songs from the late 60's and 70's and maybe you'll find it. I tried to look up the show from the season and episode but there wasn't any credits for the songs played on the show.It was from the 2nd season and was the 14th episode if that helps you to locate the song.

The episode is called One for the Road.
The girls start to drink, and move their party into the living room. Becky decides that they need a little music, so she pulls out Dans record collection. She starts spinning a few label, and getting pretty drunk.
I searched several websites and cannot find the name of the music. Sorry

Could be this one "Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues...
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters i've written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty i'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.
'cause i love you,
Yes, i love you,
Oh, how, i love you.
Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what i'm going thru
They can understand.
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,
And i love you,
Yes, i love you,
Oh, how, i love you.
Oh, how, i love you.
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters i've written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty i'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.
'cause i love you,
Yes, i love you,
Oh, how, i love you.
Oh, how, i love you.
'cause i love you,
Yes, i love you,
Oh, how, i love you.
Oh, how, i love you.
