what is the origin of the water.. and the earth runs out of water?

The Earth isn't about to run out of water. It, like everything else, is constantly being recycled.

Most of the water on Earth was formed at about the same time as the rest of the planet. Why we seem to have so much more of it than the other planets is something of a mystery.

While life has evolved and been sustained on Earth the evidence suggests it did not start here. Herein lies the story of water, and from water arose life. Water and life’s origins are far more mysterious and exciting than we thought

The planetary picture that is emerging is that Earth was formed with very little water, or no water at all. The hydration of Earth came from comets and some hydrous asteroids. These sources are the Kuiper belt out past Neptune and the Oort cloud on the edges of our solar system. Comets are one of the most primitive members of our universe and due to their remoteness and small size have not undergone much chemical change; they are frozen fossils of a long past epoch. While asteroids are more numerous (70% of visitations to comets 30%) they contain little water, mainly rock and metal.

Using spectroscopy physicists discovered that our planets and observable comets each have their own distinctive water signatures. In the depths of space some water is formed when the isotopes of hydrogen, known as deuterium bond with an oxygen ion. They form what we know as heavy water. Whilst it is only 10% heavier it looks feels and tastes like water but has different properties such a higher boiling point (101.4C) and freezing point (3.8C).

Water is thought to have been first delivered here over 4 billion years ago involving an intense bombardment of the inner solar system. One such attack is known as the lunar cataclysm, a period of celestial assault when the moon became most heavily pock-marked. The Earth received 13 – 500 times more ‘hits’ and having a greater critical mass was also able to hold much the water (ice).

The Earth is about 2/3rds covered with water and only about 1/3rd land. Some say that is because the Gods new we would rather fish than farm. When the planet was formed and began to cool, the "water" in the atmosphere filled the low spots and formed the oceans and seas. "Climate" then started the process of storms to re-supply water and evaporation to keep a kind of balance. It has maintained that "balance" over millions of years with few exceptions. Some times we have an ice age and sometimes a drought. We are currently about 12000 years in to the next ice age, which is why the temperature of the oceans is going down. The Pacific in particular has been getting noticeably colder for several decades now. That fact doesn't make the global warming crowed very happy, but it does explain several changes that are occurring around the planet.

water is simply made up of Hydrogen atoms and Oxygen atoms...does H2O ring-a-bell? The earth runs out of water because poeple sometimes forget that the earth has a limited amout...out of all the water only 0.3% is safe to drink...

scientists even made a machine that turns salt water into fresh drinking water...

From God. ever since God peed on earth there has been water when God decides he will no longer pee on earth then the earth will run out of water. dont be alarmed water can be recycled.

When i was in the 5th grade we learnt that the water in the earth never finishes. for example if water is evaporated saturation causes the water to fall as rain. if u pour water in sand the water is still there. if u have any questions related to this subject e-mail me at one of these:

Hope that helps.

water is caused by the joining of hydrogen and oxygen, and unless there is a huge explosion that burns off all the hydrogen, we won't run out of water, we are, however running out of potable water. that means water suitable to drink.
