do teenagers succumb to peer pressure these days?

I think it depends on how they were brought up. I was taught what was acceptable behaviour and I knew my dad would kick my @$$ if I did "bad" things. I wouldn't say I started my own trends but, I did not follow my friends in the wrong direction. I'm not a teenager anymore but it was not very long ago.

I feel that those that can start their own trend are ppl that can influence ppl and had a ver strong will and domierring charcter... those that follow this kind of person.. usually wan a sense of belonging and "home".. becos parents cannot share w them everything... so they will want to have a sense of belonging.. and thus... this depend on each and every character of each indivdual .. plus if this gang of ppl have the same likes and hanging out places... they will put pressure on one another if one starts to fall out of place.... so i think.. this is just a phases for when everyone come out to work... all will change.... frens will changes and the feeling will change too....

I don't think that it is peer pressure as much as it is to try and fit in with the cool kids or a group so they don't feel like out cast. Like i said to a mum that was wondering why her daughter was wagging school and faking sickies ma by it was to get away as she felt she could not fit in kids and teenagers do stuff to fit in i know all parents want there kids to get an education but school to them is socializing like in real life they need to feel they can fit in so they can have friends and sometimes that can lead to stupid mistakes to try and fit in.
