No, David, you do not have a clear picture of the Second Law of thermodynamics. The Second Law can be stated in many interesting ways but this thing that "you cannot put more energy into a system than get out" is simply, well, YOUR interpretation and is plain wrong. On the other hand, you seem to be hugely overestimating the impact of the tiny, little planet such as earth, in the vast universe. Why do you say "GIANT SOURCE of ENERGY" to offset what is happening in this almost insignificant speck of dust in the immensity of the Cosmos?

Currently, definitely not. Unless our intent is to alienate the rest of the world and/or galvanize them into taking action against us, economically or worse.

Normally, we're the best in the world when it comes to world politics. Let's hope for a return to reality and sanity.
