First, the hospital CAN NOT vaccinate your child without your consent. (Although it has been done) In order to make this clear to them, you need to provide the hospital with a written birth plan. You need to provide a copy to your doctor and/or midwife as well. In the birth plan you must state your wishes. In some hospitals, they will administer the Hepatitis B vaccine to newborns. You would need to specify in the birth plan that you do not want your newborn vaccinated. There are some other things, aside from vaccinations that most hospitals will administer to a newborn. Vitamin K injection, Bloodwork, and Silver Nitrate (That is what they put in the eyes after birth) If any of these are also of concern to you, you should specify them in the birth plan as well. You need to be very clear that these are your wishes. Also, when they take the baby to check her/him, I suggest that you also are very vocal regarding your wishes.
***Vaccination Exemptions in Arizona***
The state of Arizona allows exemptions from vaccinations. You do NOT need an exemption form in the hospital for a newborn. The only time that you will need the exemption form will be when you are ready to enroll your child in daycare or school. Arizona gives you three types of exemptions...
1) Medical Reasons - If the immunization would be a health risk to the child because of pre-existing
medical conditions
2) Religious Beliefs - If immunizations are against your religious beliefs
3) Laboratory Evidence - If your child has previously had a vaccine preventable disease, immunization
against that disease is not required if laboratory evidence of immunity signed by a physician can be
provided.
As stated in Arizona Administrative Code R9-5-305, your
child will not be allowed to attend child care until either a record of immunization or the exemption statement is submitted.
You can find the form on the Arizona Governor's Office website:

Here is the direct link to the exemption form:

Congratulations and good luck!

There's a popular belief that these vaccines are the cause of autism and they base this on many factors such as the fact that before these vaccines were adminstered there were no known cases of autism in the America or the world. No proof yet as to whether or not this is true but many are surely convinced that it is true and refuse to endanger their newborn (1 out of 166 children!!!)

You can't be forced to vaccinate your child. As for getting your child into public school, there is a religious exemption in all states except Mississippi and West Virginia. All you have to do is make a written statement that vaccinations are against your religious beliefs and give it to school authorities.

Whatever you do, dont ask a hospital. They are controlled by drug companies. Check online at: http://www.vaclib.org/exempt/arizona.htm
Most people think vaccines are required but dont really know the law nor the dangers.

i've got observed my son progressed quicly interior the climate of character & intelligence. i think of its impossible to break a new child considering cognitive applications are nonetheless primitive... they only cry while they have a baseline pick. Up till a 12 months previous, in my expert opinion as a father, is it okay to break them. After that, their cognitive applications a great deal strengthen, making them plenty extra in all probability to %. up on types & leverage your nurturing instincts to get what they pick. basically then, is "spoiling" them a bad concept. Daddy's firmness & stability is serious after the 1st 12 months. mom is ideal on the beginning up 12 months. I say go mom!!! ;-)

I think you mean precedent. You can't be forced to have your child vaccinated, but they could prevent him/her from attending school.
