I get 38 mpg on my 88 Sprint with a carbed 1.0 liter 3 cyl. That is to the floor every second I drive it and I cut the 3 banger of fury no slack. I guess if I drove it easy I could get in the 40's,but where is the fun in that, I like hearing 3 cylinders scream for mercy! I'll take an electric vehicle before I buy into the 150 mpg carb hype. I would just use it for work commutes though, I like my dino bone chewing 67 Impala for the weekends! Love to hear that V8 camming and sucking fuel at stoplights! Go baby,GO! I love the smell of CAM2 in the morning! No hybrid makes that rumbling sound I so long to hear!

First, you'd have to convince me that this is not just another fraud - there are dozens of swindlers who have built all kinds of devices from the semi-reasonable to patently absurd that have claimed anywhere from a 20% improvement in gas mileage to a 1000%, but every time somebody tests them they have turned out to be either optimistic or outright frauds.

Vapor carburetors are a prime example. The EPA has tested a few of them and found no improvement - not to mention one that they were worried would catch on fire. Their supposed operating principle is bogus - around 97% of the fuel is burned already, so even if you could burn 100% you would not have much improvement.

Besides which, have you ever wondered why nobody's come out with a 200 mpg fuel injector? I'm amazed at how well this myth has survived while refusing to keep pace with current automotive technology.

Too bad it is against the laws of physics to get that many miles out of a carburetor on a car or light truck. The most you could get out of a carburetor might be 50 MPG on a 2 or 3 or 4 cylinder motor with no torque and very little power, and it better not weigh over 500 pounds. Nice pipe dream, though.

On the TV Show Mythbusters, they proved that those carburators don't work, they are just a scam to get your money and in fact, use more gas than a standard carburator does. So no, I wouldn't pay one red cent for one and no I wouldn't buy one!

It's impossible to just swap a carburetor and get that much of an increase is fuel mileage. MPG depends on much more than just the carb. I've heard the rumors, too, and they are completely false.
