Just as with Tarot cards and tea leaves, rune stones are an aid to the person who is performing the reading. They are a way for the person to further open their mind and their innate ability to predict the future (it amazes me that so many people will believe in Nostradomus, a clairavoyant, but discount others). However, this innate ability must first be there to begin with. It isn't the runes themselves which predict the future, but the person casting them.

Before you use the Runes why don't you try wearing a rune for protection, health or if you are trying for a baby or anything at all. These Runes are sold in the shops that also stock Tarots and such like. They are made up by Rune Masters and are different signs put together to make up a protection or aid. In the case of Rune stones and/or your Rune charm, you have to have it/them with you as often as possible to transfer YOUR energy into it/them. Try reading up on Norse Mythology in books or the Net. The Viking Warriors wore Runes on their person and engraved on their swords, each Rune meaning something different for each warrior. They do work. My partner and i lost a baby boy during pregnancy, we were distraught obviously. Nothing happened for a long time until my partner started wearing a pregnancy rune and i wore "Thor's Hammer" for protection & safety. We have a 2yr old boy now. Read about Runes first and make up your own mind. Dont let others put you off. The ones that put you off are too embroiled in the 21st century and would be lost if you took their TV away LOL. Best of luck for what you want out of life.

I dont think any of the answers so far have actually been from people who use them. hmm.
Well I dont use them either, but a lady with a funny accent came up to me in the street and gave me this rune stone and told me to always keep it with me because it is lucky.
JRR Tolkien had rune letters and stuff.
That is all I know about runes.

They don't. Runes are nothing more than an early alphabet (in fact there are several all of which are classed under the general heading of runes) from a writing form used in the north of Europe. Fortune telling and all these related "arts" are nothing but rubbish.

The runes were used by the ancient european peoples as an alphabet, a language, a form of magic, fortunetelling, a religion, a martial art and as a form of semaphore.
As such they are part of the cultural heritage of the northern european peoples, races and tribes.
each rune has its own meaning and shape, they work by fortelling the Wyrd that may happen to you in line with your questioning of them.

I'm guessing you don't believe in the stones? I had some once, and I can say with all certainty that, they can't predict the future because they are made of stone and have no possible way of knowing anything. I'm quite sure they don't even know what they are?
Urinating from a height into random buckets would predict a future just as well as any ambivalent stone or card, and would be much more entertaining!!!

They dont.
Randomly pulling stones from a bag cannot give info on the future.
Its just another way to con money from the gullible.

There's a lot of interpretation involved, just like any form of divination. Get a short book on it.

it doesn't actually "work." whoever is telling things about your future already has a set of things mapped out for each stone or just maeks up random things regarding that "one" stone. whatever makes people believe...
