One, the U.S. is using the cheapest bombs possible, mostly older and outdated, Iraq hasnt seen a big bomb yet.
Two, the number of houses mean nothing, and the vast majority of the citizenry want the newer government, run by the civilians, to succeed. Therefore, the number of U.S. military is kept only to a theoretical 'helpful' number of people.
Three, the terrorist cowards who want to undermine peace to maintain a semblance of power usually hide in schools or mosques. America declares these off-limits unless intelligence indicates strongly that terrorists reside there.
Four, The U.S. has nothing againt the general Iraqi population, so the number of houses hardly matters, but if that were the case, nearly all residences in Iraq could be leveled to rubble in a day, if the U.S. used "the really big weapons".
You are confused as to what the U.S. intentions are in Iraq.

I would assume that the President, or someone in his Administration, probably has access to the World Factbook at cia.gov. From there, I learned that the population of Iraq is 26,783,383. Somewhat less than "gazillions". Iraq has 432,162 sq km of land, so a little quick math will give you ratio of 61.97 persons per sq km. By contrast, the population of the United States is 298,444,215, and we have 9,161,923 sq km of land, for a ratio of 32.57 persons per sq km. So yes, were the populations of both countries spread out evenly over the entire land mass, Iraq would be nearly twice as crowded as the U.S.
As for the states running out of "army men": Although "Army men" (and women) make up about half of the total number of armed services personnel worldwide, the Marines, Air Force, and Navy are all involved in some capacity in Iraq. And you are correct in your implication that the military, in all its branches, is stretched perilously thin. Several members of Congress have brought this to the attention of the President.
More to the point, what the President should have considered, when he decided to invade Iraq, was the viewpoint of several members of his own party who advised him that the invasion would not be as quick or as bloodless as he'd hoped. (Sen. John McCain of Arizona is a prominent voice among them.) This conflict has dragged on longer than the Second World War, and at a cost of the lives of thousands of Americans either killed or horribly injured.
But I'll step down from my soapbox now, because I've adequately answered your comments. (Which were not actually a question.)

Really, Billions? Considering only six billion people live on earth I find that rather faulty. You are simply seeing Baghdad which is a huge city. The rest of the country is not that populated.
