Charcoal if you want it done right.
Propane if your in a hurry, and don't care about being right.

I say charcoal. Propane gives the meat a yucky flavor.

Charcoal is better, but propane is much easier to use! Sorry to say, I barbeque with propane!

I have never once had anything from a charcoal bbq that didn't taste like lighter fluid.
