The movies were nowhere near as good as the books! But I did really like the movies! The scenes I liked best were the ones in Lothlorien ... it looked really magical and was really well done. The scene with the Balrog was done really well, too (but the bridge scene was a little too far-fetched with Legolas being able to lean forward to get the bridge to fall where he wanted).

Lord of the Rings is a one of a kind Trilogy but if you're looking for a movie similar to it then watch Willow. It has so many similarities to LOTR that it is crazy. can't say I actually like the movie though.

I love the scenes of the fellowship in Lothlorien, PJ did a spectacular job, creating the whole part nearly how I pictured it from the book.
The movies are great, and are probably some of the best movies ever made from a book. But the books are still better in my opinion, because of the detail and extra stoy that lie with ih them.

I never read the books and never will. The movies solved that problem!
I love the scene where Gandal rides up Minas Tirith. It's so visually stunning!

I have seen it and I think it was as good as the book,or maybe better.I liked in "Lord Of The Rings3"the scene where the elf killed one of the giant elephants and the short man told him that it counted only for one.It was funny you know?

the movie was really great..and it helped me understand the book better...!! i tried to read it before the movie came out, and it was kinda slow. but after i saw the first movie, it really got my imagination going, and i was able to truly read and immerse myself into the story. Peter Jackson did a great job and he obviously realllly knew the story by heart. he did take some stuff out, but it didnt' detract anything from the movies.
i liked the scenes w/ Aragorn and Liv Tyler...she was the best elf! very ethereal....and when she saved Frodo from the black horsemen it was really shot beautifully..... :)
i'd like to see the extended versions some day....
