This going to be one of the few articulate answers you are ever going to get. Music is a universal genre. One of the things you have to understand that as people grow older certain tastes for many things change, including choice of music. Some people like several different types of music including country. Meanwhile believe it or not there might be closet fans in your own demographic.
One sure way to prove that you are not alone with your woes is to send an e-mail for a request video to CMT along with your beef. The truth is you feel alone because 'everyone follows the MTV crowd' is your own current perception. I remember a time when I thought I was the only teen who enjoyed classical music.
Not many people know this but some musicans like Sheryl Crow and Jessica Simpson also fall under as part of the conutry music genre, yet they're classified as 'Rock/Pop' in every record store worldwide. The reason is because of Billboard magazine put these artists under this catagory.
If people were to listen upon how the music is played, more people would notice. All types of music are like food, it's a required taste. Certain people like this and that. Nonetheless variety is the spice of life which also makes us all unique individuals as a person.

Actually Country music is more popular than ever. I know a lot of teens that love country. Have you been to any concerts? You'll meet lots of like minded teens there. I like more of the "Old Country" music like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, David Allen Coe, Patsy Cline, etc. but the new country is really being marketed well and has a huge fan base. Just wear a concert tee to school and someone will strike up conversation about it and then you'll see.,

Alot of my peers listen to hip hop & country..... that's all they listen to. Im in the minority, listening to punk, ska, and raggae. I personally don't like country because I think it all sounds the same, but that's just because I don't have the ears for country music or the interest in it.

Country songs have a formula to them. They all are pretty much the same.
Most kids I know either like rock or techno. Those types of music have variety in them. Country songs are either fast or slow... but the verses are almost always the same length, they almost always rhyme, they most always have a bridge to them thats the same length....etc etc.
Of course, the hick kids like country. Guess it helps to lull the cows into submission for their midnight beastiality parties.

I knew this female at my camp that listened to united states of america non end. i think of many youth dont like it using fact they have been taught to hate it (capture my waft?) so the pay attention to what they suspect they might desire to hearken to. They fail to relize that they might pay attention to what ever they pick.

country music is just too bland and simple. teens nowadays like noisy music like heavy metal or rock. country music might be boring to teens now as teens like music with energy and music that they can dance to.
