You could but, It's better 12-14 days after the start of your last period. There's a better chance because you are ovulating.

depends on how often your periods are. You acturally ovulate about 14 days BEFORE your next period, which is why no one really knows when you are fertile (unless you are using ovulation predictor tests. AND sperm last 3 days or so. So, do the math.) If your periods are 24 days apart, or worse yet irregular, the 5th day may be unsafe to have unprotected intercourse.

I don't know if you WILL but you MIGHT. Sperm live in there for days, and may be there just waiting for that lovely egg to come along.
