Dan speaking about his West End debut in Equus next year and appearing naked on stage:
All the other actors who have ever played the part have done that, so for me not to do it wouldn't really be playing the part. It would be a watered down version. It wouldn't be the same.
I'll be incredibly nervous, but I think 'It's in the script; it's got to be done.' I'm terrified, but excited.

DanRadcliffe.com have confirmed that Dan Radcliffe will be in the stage play Equus, along with Harry Potter co-star Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon). He sent a message to DR.com, stating the following:
"I'm really excited to be part of this production and thrilled to be working with Richard Griffiths again. This is obviously a huge departure for me as an actor, but Equus is such an amazing play that this really was an opportunity not to be missed.
Rehearsal starts in January and I am very much looking forward to working with Thea Sharock who is an incredibly talented director. I only hope I do the role justice."
Equus focuses on the relationship between seventeen-year-old Alan Strang (Radcliffe), who has blinded six horses with a spike, and Martin Dysart (Griffiths), a middle-aged psychiatrist who tries to figure out what drove Strang to commit the crime. There is some nudity, but contrary to some reports, the entire film is not done in the nude - and it's possible that there may be no nudity at all, as has been done in the past.
The play is set to being in Spring 2007. Tickets are not on sale, as the theatre has not yet been chosen.

Yes, and maybe it's a good decision because he's got to get off the ticket off Harry Potter, an actor has to play several parts....

From various information I've read, this is simply a rumor and he has no plans to participate in this project.

I knew he has fishy from the start, so no surprise that it's true. Though I am very disappointed in him losing modesty and self-respect so quickly and easily....

All childhood actors go through this crap. It's sad but let's just hope he doesn't mess himself up like most child stars.
