The number one, most annoying instrument, bar none, has got to be ---
AIR GUITAR !!!!!
Also, those warehouse sale electric organs like your dowdy aunt rickets thinks she can play after reading the booklet that came with it, which should have been titled how to torment people and make all the dogs in a 10 block radius howl.
and a tambourine in the hand of some drunk wannabee with absolutely no idea how to count time and who is suffering delusions that he or she is suddenly a rock musician...

I think every instrument has a unique tone. But, I would have to say that the trombone gets on my nerves. You can't really play it solo and all I can think about when I hear it played is Dopey dancing around on the street.
