I just bought this machine today from people who came to my apartment and demonstrate to sell the product. The machine works fine but I just can't refuse some of their suspicious things. They didn't have business card and they showed me the box of product says "Only for home demonstration selling purpose, This box should not go into the store". The funny thing is, somehow, they took the box with them. Were they being nice to just clean the garbage for me? You know, if there is anything wrong with the product, the product cannot go into the store, right? I have three days to return this but I still find this product necessary for my family. I don't know what to do. I paid $1200 for this vaccum cleaner. They said its original price is $2100 and blah blah. One more thing, I have researched for this product online but i couldn't find it online. So does anyone have this, "Kirby Sentria" already? Please somebody answer my questions. Thank you so much. =D

I THINK YOU WERE STUNG. WITH NO BUSINESS CARD,ETC., IT WAS PROBABLY STOLEN. I HAVE AN OLD 1976 KIRBY MODEL I BOUGHT 20 YEARS AGO FROM A GUY WHO SOLD DOOR TO DOOR. I'VE NEVER HAD ONE PROBLEM WITH IT AND IT REALLY SUCKS, IN A GOOD WAY! IT DOESN'T TAKE BAGS EITHER. I GAVE $129 FOR IT THEN, RECONDITIONED. I KNOW YOU CAN BUY CHEAPER VACS EVEN NOW. WE HAVE A VACUUM PLACE HERE THAT SELLS RECONDITIONED VACS AND HAVE THOSE OLD ONES, TOO. THEY WERE MADE TO LAST. IF YOU COULD RETURN IT YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF TO DO IT AND GET ANOTHER ONE FROM A REPUTABLE DEALER. EVEN IF YOU PAID A LOT AT LEAST YOU WOULD KNOW WHERE THEY ARE AND WHAT THEIR REPUTATION IS.

OK to answer your questions ......some dealers get business cards some don't ..... i am a dealer and i do have cards .... but that's me... and the box is right there are 2 ways to get a Kirby 1) go to a Kirby office and but one at full price with no breaks 1998.00 +tx or 2) through in home demo ..... this is where the dealer can give you a break on price .....that's why you got yours at 1200 ..... the reason you cant find info on the sentria yet is because Kirby doesn't advertise..... and this is a fairly new product so word of mouth so to speak takes a little time to spread the word ........ and as for the dealer removing the box..... it is a standard thing..... some offices re-use newer boxes when others wear out but it is ultimately to convenience you by removing it for you ...... i hope i have helped you if you have any other questions feel free to e-mail me at lucciano122@collegeclub.com

Hello,

I have a Kirby G5 which is about 8 yrs old. I had the Kirby people come to my home on Saturday and had them clean my carpet. The things that they show are true, there are some smoke and mirrors but overall the Kirby is a great vacuum cleaner. When they gave me a demo the price started at $1999.95 and by the time they left I had them down to $1100.00. The new Sentria is made of cast aluminum which is about half the weight(18lbs) of the G5 (32lbs). It is quite a bit of money but the machine also has a lifetime guarantee. Enjoy the cleaning it will do. Additionally, I have had the G5 for 8 years and never used the shampooing attachment. When they cleaned the carpet on Saturday it made quite a difference.

Mom mother bought one this past Saturday...same model & she has the same suspicions. They took the box & told her that they re-use them. She didn't pay quite as much as you...got hers for $750.00. According to the salesperson it was "sell a kirby day"! They started at $1500 & after a few "calls" to her supervisor, they came way down. She is concerned that it may be a reconditioned model because she can't find any info online about this particular model. It seemed to work pretty good as a vacuum, but not the best as a shampooer. She still has 2 days to return it if she wants. I think she's going to call the 800 # on the kirby site for some more info before she returns it.

My husband almost worked for them until he found out it was pretty shady. Ive heard that the vacuum cleaners themselves are good... just not the salesmen. But to your vacuum... its probably a reconditioned model but hopefully it will work like it should. I'm wondering.. they didn't leave you any paperwork? I saw the papers (for the loans) that my husband was going to use so you should have gotten a copy... and also if that vacuum was reconditioned you should have been told that. Oh and another thing... if you didn't pay for it all at once I think the interest is 25%!!! If you want to contact the local Kirby place that these guys came from should be in the yellow pages... just search Kirby in your city. I'm wondering why you agreed to this and bought a 1200.00 vacuum without getting any paperwork, names, etc

i have a kirby g6 it is a great vaccume. they told me i had 2 wweks to return it. 5 days later they wouldn't take it back saying i only had 3 days to return it and made me buy it. i say take it back dont waste the money you can get a great vac for half the price. go to consumer reports .com they will help you out. but like i said it is a great vac so its up to you and its only worth about 800 bucks. check out e bay for an idea of price.

I just bought one yesterday for 1500.00....I'm researching it now while I still have three days to nullify the deal. I chose to keep the box because they probably won't accept the returned item without the box........Hmmmmmm. I think it's a good machine but the price is high. Let me know what you find out: muhammadb1@yahoo.com
