Is this for a motorcycle or car?
Motorcycle? After you decide the detector thing. You should probably consider investing some money in a good helmet, really good padding, kevlar bodysuit, bodybag.
On second thought, scratch the helmet. I had a friend that was doing a 140 on his motorcycle, when he hit a bump in the road. Not much left of him. They did find his helmet, with head inside 130 ft. from the body parts, which were strewn randomly all over the pavement.
Car? If you hit a tree or telephone pole doing 140, attempting to outrun the cops, you will probably become a tree-hugger for eternity. Just a thought.
Also buy a cemetary plot, write a will, buy life insurance. And kiss your a** goodbye!!!!!

What difference does it make which one you purchase? Doing 140 you will eventually get caught, and it wont be because of a radar detector. Someone you blow by that is doing 90 will get upset and call it in, or you will go around a curve and get clocked anyway so go without the radar detector.

What do you need a radar for, oh, you have a car. I have a GSXR 1000 and I dont need no radar. Life starts at 140 is the saying, try going a steady 199 for a few. Theres no point for a radar, I encourage pursuit.

the sound of a loud muffler ruins the way radar detectors work. if you get a loud muffler, you will stop the radar from working, causing the police officer to not know how fast you were going, letting you slide. ive done it many times before, going faster than 140.

Radar detectors don't make your car faster...
Seriously, if you want to drive at those speeds find a high performance driving club and go to one of their track days. You can drive with your foot to the floor to your hearts content in a controlled, safe environment without worry of going to jail.

Just fly to Germany and rent the fastest car you can afford. You can drive as fast as you like on the Autobahn. Don't waste money on a detector, if you drive that fast in the USA, they will get you sooner or later.
