Just kind of wondering why Bush thought this was such a good idea. Did you know that our troops in Iraq pay $3.00 to fill their vehicles and we pay $3.00 per gallon to fill our vehicles? My hubby's friend was stationed in Iraq. Can anyone remind me why we are doing this? Does anyone regret voting for Bush?...I didn't but I sure would! I can't wait until he is gone...hopefully the idiots who voted for him will think democrat next time.

We are just killing innocent people, theirs and our own! And yet there has been no benefit for either country. And members from Iraq please submit your answers and comments...is your life better or worse and even if it's worse...is it for the better down the road?

I do support our troops...I feel for every man or woman who is deployed in this war as well as their families and wish them all safety and happiness. I am not happy with the war...I was all for taking down Afganistan but I am wondering why Iraq was included. Yes they needed liberation from Saddam, but I don't think they were ready. There will be another Saddam just because they weren't ready. Yes we should always be on the lookout for a threat but I can't see attacking anyone who isn't an immediate threat. Would you shoot at a black man in a white neighborhood just because you thought he might be a threat or looks like he would have a weapon? We had no proof of weapons of mass destruction and have yet to find any....don't we look the morons? Maybe the underlying reasons for this war will someday make real sense to everyone but it doesn't right now.

It's a marketing phrase.

It gets people emotionally charged, and can be used as a brand-name justification for any action, no matter how irrational or illegal.

And it's worked. All Bush has to do is invoke the words "war on terror" to defend anything he's doing, and anyone who opposes the action is suddenly denounced for aiding terrorism.

{EDIT to MikeB}

Of course Bush rules. All tyrants do. Because they cannot lead.

I have said this before, but it all started back in the cold war. The soviets were in Afghanistan, and the U.S. made a deal to stop the war, and help rebuild. When the soviets were run out, American troops pulled out. Leaving Afghanistan in a war torn state, and setting the stage for what is happening now... I can only imagine the resentment some have harboured, (and NO I don't think what has been done to America is right). I think Bush is truly trying to finish what was supposed to be done decades ago, but it is not to say he doesn't have other reasons too. I am just a well informed person who can see two sides to a story. On a further note I agree that there has been a lot of lose. I think the war will make the world a better place, with more understanding and tolerance, (when all is said and done)... Remember that terrorists attacked America first, not the other way around. And yes, this could have been avoided if the U.S. had stayed to help rebuild, but they didn't and now that damage has been done, and the issue is at hand. I can only hope that the whole world can learn from this situation... After all that is why we go to school.

I imagine you would be the first to whine if there were terrorist's in your front yard.
A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE
Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes. He stays up for days on end.
-- --
You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water.
-- --
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at, as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
-- --
YOU put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
-- --
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
-- --
You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
-- --
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
-- --
You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
-- --
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He does not get to eat today.
-- --
You make your bed and wash your clothes. He wears the same things for months, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
-- --
You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
-- --
You are angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. He is told he will be held an extra 2 months.
----
You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
-- --
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
-- --
You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
-- --
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own government and remembers why he is fighting.
-- --
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of the men like him. He hears the gun fire and bombs.
-- --
You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the bodies lying around him.
-- --
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does what he is told.
-- --
You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call and write home, sleep, and eat.
-- --
You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable. He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gun fire
-- --
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is a worse place because of men like him. If only there were more men like him.

You're A Double Moron...

Well as you point out it certainly wasn't for oil as most liberals think. No one who voted for him will vote democratic as that is just idiotic, why replace a decent man with an imbecile. Your second paragraph is just liberal banter without any truth to it. Oh, I know, your friend told you.

Perhaps he just want to remove the "axis of evil" bit by bit and wants to remove anyone who is holding nuclear weapons and of threat to America. Uncle Sam sure has a violent way of doing things.

war on terrorism is a pretext , the true purpose of wars is mainly profit , increasong the government defense budget which will make Carlyle and Halliburton gain enormously from government contracts is clear , also the corporations of arms industries make huge profits on every conflict they breed and nurture , the true purpose of the war is first money ,, war profiteers are those who gain from the war in Iraq, the war on terrorism is just a title to hide the true meaning of profit
