I have pcos. My doctor says that a combination of clomid and glucophage to help me ovulate. She told me that I need to lose 50 lbs. Does anyone have the experince to tell me, will my doc give me the meds if i request them and have not lost the weight?

It is hard to know without asking your doctor since I don't know her. She may have been suggesting you lose weight but that doesn't mean she would not give you the medications. Please give the office a call and ask.

Please note that studies have shown that it is harder for women to conceive when they are overweight and pcos just adds more complications to the mix. Your doctor probably feels that your chances of conceiving would increase tremendously if you lost weight. However, that does not mean she won't give you the medications anyway!
