We have a 99, We bought it new, first year for the Trail blazer. It is my wife's car, It only has 49,000 miles. Other than the rear window washer did not work and was fixed under warranty, we have had zero problems with it. A great car for her. All leather, it has the Vortec 4300 V6, 4 wheel drive, with towing package.
The radiator fan does make a lot of noise when you first start it and quiets down after 2-300 feet of driving, but that is common to the Vortec 4300 v6 engines from GM.

My friend has an older model trail blazer. There are generally no problems with them- although I am partial towards imports in terms of performance, reliability, and general craftsmanship.
The one in question is still pretty new (2003), but I wouldn't hold my breath and expect it to NOT have problems when it hits the 10 year old mark (if not before).
