Undemocratic organizations have always had power and manipulate nation states. What's happening these days is that global news, communication and information are disintegrating the organizations anonymity.
Bad for them because they like to be unknown and unfollowed as to sell us 'facts' and propaganda unchallenged.
Bad for us because we have no idea how to gain independence from their money and power.

Globalization is shifting power from nation states to organizations which transcend national boundaries. To the extent that the member states of economic and political alliances are democratic, so will the global concerns be more or less representational. It is incumbent on the individual citizens of those member states to exert influence on both their own nations' organs, and also the global concerns.
One key to preventing too much shift away from citizen participation will be for democratic movements to also expand beyond borders, that is to say, they will have to use some of the same techniques and strategies as global economic institutions to unite with citizens of other nations to counterbalance the effect of oligarchy and economic/political cabals.

No - we are purely now drawing close the point of globalization and loose commerce reached earlier WWI -- while examining your history books, does it look like the rustic-states have been eroded? Granted, the countless gamers have been eroding empires like the Ottoman empire and Tsarist Russia.
