Ha! Good question!! It would be easier for kids to recite a rappers intire album then to remember history dates. Kids anymore hear trash in video games, TV, Movies, The radio, and such. Our kids today don't worry about an education when they learn that they could be like one of these idiot rappers (some are good but some I hate) Why do you think that the dropout rate in schools is so high? Why do you think that just last week I seen a kid trash talk his mother in a public place? There is this little kid I seen the other day he was walking down the road with his friend cursing so much it would make a sailor gasp? kids today have no control and it is time for the patents to step up and take action!!

I know I can tell you more about WWII and some stratagies involved than I can about some rap lyrics and I listen to rap. While it is nice to be able to put all the blame on rap music-and to call it names-for declining grades and student problems, that's not necessarily true. Many times students aren't interested by historical dates regardless of what music they listen to, and rap does indeed deserve some "blame"- if you do not want to hold students accountable for their own work and blame an outside force- students who don't do well in history also listen to country and rock music as well. So which is easier to recite depends on the specific person and is not in any relation to music

Probably recite a compete rap albums lyrics. a lot of parents buy their children steros, cd's,radios, or the kids buy them with their own money.
Not many sit and talk to their children about historical years and events, most of those are left to the teacher to teach.

Is it specifically rap music, or just general music album?
Well, personally, I think it would be easier for a kid to recite a rap album or the like as well, most children don't really care for history etc, so they don't pay as much attention etc apposed to when they listen to music they like, where they do infact listen and enjoy listening.

LOL ... that's great. That's a hard question to answer. I wouldn't let any of my children listen to rap cause its illiterate for the most part and kids are dumb enough without having to listen to that crap.

So I will say: historical events minus the years.

When i was a kid, I had a terrible memory for numbers, especially years. Come to think of it, it's still a problem. Why not make up a rap about what you'd like them to remember?

For me as a rock fan, 2 historial years and events, though I probably couldn't even have done that. I suck at history.

I would say both are equal. Some kids can do both, others just one or the other.
