No, the Verizon version of the Chocolate will use CDMA technology, incompatible with GPS/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS technology that Cingular uses.

Google for "unlocked chocolate phone gsm" and order a competitively priced one of those, then put your SIM card in it and enjoy.

Cingular and Tmobile phones can go back and forth between providers because they use SIM based phones...Sprint and Verizon can only go back and forth because they used SIMless phones which are hardcoded...

if your sim card is cingular, it wont work on the verizon phone.. unless you can cingular or "someone" to trouble-shoot the phone.

no you cannot, each phone company locked their phone. Which means even thou they are in the same band but other service provider can't use it. Unless you buy an unlocked phone from the internet or somewhere else.

I don't believe so. I'm in the telecom field by trade, and I believe they have different systems that are incompatible. That might change eventually.
