cause i never had one and i saw that sweet sixteen show and i'm like these kids are freakin spoiled its like instead of being grateful that act like its their god given right for them to get and have everything go their way.....but a car would have been nice lol

I didn't have one. My mom didn't have that kind of money. And if I ever acted that way as a teen, ( like on my super sweet 16)my momma woulda knocked my teeth out! Spoiled rotten brats!

I had a sweet 16, i got to choose the restaurant and my bedtime was moved from 9pm to 10pm, thats about it, oh and i got icecream cake instead of regular cake, i know it sounds goofy but i was really thrilled, i was a very sheltered child, military takes that right out of you, of course what was funny about the cake was my 16th b-day was in 2000 and we just got around to throwing it out of the freezer!

Well, does everyone have a 16 (16th birthday)? No, and most do however.
Does everyone have a big party like on the show you're talking about? No, of course not. They and/or their parents have more important things to do w/the money.
Do some people have wonderful little parties? Yes.
Did I? No... and that's fine. :)

It seems much less common in this day and age....only the rich and overly gluttonous appear to. Hence, MTV "Sweet Sixteen".

i didnt have a sweet sixteen or a quincera so all i gotta say is thank goodness....i cant handle pressure like that

NO!! That year my mom attempted suicide and my parents got divorced. I had a horrendous sixteen!
