DC Comics had a story of Superman that explored that idea. A race of aliens incapable of violence but wanting to conquer the Earth (yeah, it sounds weird) alter time to destroy the heroic ideal on Earth and create a docile human race that never arose in war.
The story goes on to comment that without war, humankind would never have banded together for mutual defence. Cities would never be formed; at most small villages for commerce would emerge. Without cities and the need for defence, technology would have been stifled. Medical advances would be limited to primitive care.
Just to add onto this with my own opinions, art and culture would have been non-existent. Religion as we know it would be primitive, probably in the mode of nature-worship, akin to how the First Nations of the Great Plains worshiped.
I would guess that human population would have been no more than 100 million worldwide. Without the advancement of technology for food production and the medical arts, it's likely that population would change very little over centuries. My number is just a guess, but that's probably what the world's population was about 2000 years ago.

Difficult question. If there had been no war, no genocide, the population would be astronomical, unless there had been plagues and various lethal illnesses sweeping the globe and keeping the population down.
In order to have remained peaceful since the beginning of mankind, the earth would have to have been ruled by a single entity, with rigid controls on permitted behaviour. Much like communist China. It's a pretty grim thought.

cain and abel's tale is more of a parable than historical fact;but it was the first murder!!!but it is more likely that fighting over food surpluses was the begininnings of all troubles between peoples!!!especially as arable and fertile land was diminished by repeated demands made upon it for a continuous harvest season after season!!!!all while no real amendments had been made to replenish the soil's fertility!!!in etremities families, tribes and national city states stole the surpluses of others to maintain themselves through many of the temporary ;but immediate emergencies that occurred by floods, area droughts and unseasonable weather or other exingensies!!!war became a way of life to retain "unrealistic levels"of population based on successes of raiding others whose lands were more productive!!!

seeing that every time the population doubles...it takes half the time to double again....it would be pretty astounding to find peace with that many billions of people trying to share a rather small space....
honestly. i think that pain, war, tears, death, loss, violence...all these things are a necessary part of life. i know that sound horrid of me to say...but hear me out...
if you never know sadness...how would you know happy?
if you never know loss, how would you recognize gain?
if you never had to be strong and withstand...how would deal with joy and blessings?
our world is not perfect. it never was and it never can be.
we make the best of what we have and strive for change and peace and humanity...
but sometimes it takes a whole lot of ugly to be able to look around and see all the beauty.
